What's New
Dear Members, Marines, and Friends of the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial Association,
This letter is overdue. It is once again time to renew our membership in the MMA for 2010 and I hope we can count on your continued support and membership. I know that communications have not been the best over the past year and this request comes with a promise to improve in that area this year. One thing that you can do to facilitate communications is to please include an email address on the Application form, on this page, when submitting your 2010 dues. This will not only facilitate our communications to you, it will also allow better use of all our funds by avoiding the ever increasing cost of postage, ink and paper.
Please mark March 7, 2010 on your calendar and plan on attending the next MMA meeting. It will be held at the American Legion Post #178, 1655 Simms in Lakewood at 12:00 with optional breakfast available if you arrive earlier. Your participation and support are both important to the ongoing maintenance and development of the Memorial.
Semper Fidelis,
John Fitzgerald, President

Notes from the Colorado Scholarship Fund Committee:
Many members have experienced the benefit of a grant from our MCL National
Scholarship program for a child or grandchild.
We hope to be able to add to this benefit and feel that someday one
of your own children or grandchildren might enjoy these benefits.
If each Unit would set a goal of providing $2.00 per capita to the
Department Scholarship fund each year, our goals could be achieved and the
number and amounts of our grants could grow.
Please note this is not an assessment, but a voluntary effort that
each Detachment could chose to provide by whatever means would work best for
them.
If your Unit could meet this challenge by passing the hat, conducting a fundraiser for this purpose, an in house per capita assessment, or an outright donation, it will be appreciated and very instrumental in the success of our program. Knowing that some Detachments & Units resources are considerably greater than others, those that can afford to exceed this suggested goal are encouraged to do so.
Please come to this year’s Department Convention with a donation meeting this challenge or a commitment from your Unit to meet this challenge in the near future. This is a program that will pay dividends for our families’ youth for many years to come.
Applications for the Scholarship can be found on the Department of Colorado, MCL's Website, and need to be postmarked NO LATER than April 1st.
Thank You and Semper Fi,
